Hi, I have two WIN 7 systems and number of win XP systems. It seem my win 7 systems can communicate between them, and i can use internet and connect to google from all systems (win 7 and win xp), the problem is WIN 7 systems, can't see win XP systems and I can't mount network drive.
please help.
who's been posting threads to give the impression that this place gives out tech support then eh??!
Well I went through this on Saturday as it happens ... but I have just one Win 7 and one Win XP machine trying to talk to each other, but I guess that makes no diff really.
Your 7s can't see the XPs but I guess the XPs can't see the 7s either, right?
You need to disable your Win 7 Home Group, since that won't work with the XPs, and have your 7 machines join your existing XP network as a Work Network. (Sorry my system's in Spanish so I'm translating these terms, not sure if that matches the English exactly).
You also might need to go into the Shared Resource and Network Centre and the Advanced Config for Sharing (sorry, translating again) - scroll down a bit and you'll see something about sharing files encoded to 128 bits - check the 40 or 56 bit option.
I think that was it, a bit of googling will likely get you a much clearer and more accurate explanation.
Good luck.
