Does anyone have any tips for embedding a video in a dart big-box? Is there special hosting needed for the video or other specs/ tricks I should be aware of?

Ad standard 300x250. Just including a video in a Flash file is easy enough, but there tends to be best practices re. polite downloads etc. that I no longer recall. I've worked with Motif before, but I never figured if the ad required special hosting for video - like a media server setup or similar. It's a fairly particular thing with Ads, I think.

video can normally be loaded progressively so you don't need media server. Media server can be used to switch between videos dependent on download speeds and allows you to skip about a video easier, but I doubt it is relevent for ads especially as ads often use older versions of flash (video encoding).

Thanks for the response, JLM. Most publishers are willing to forgo standard UAP limits for Video ads and other "special circumstances", so ads aren't often constrained to a "use older versions of flash" unless it's a standard unit. The IAB suggests h264 as an encoding option suggesting Player 9, but I believe they generally avoid suggesting max. Flash versions these days. I know that's the case for our media network.

I have extensive experience using DoubleClick In-stream to integrate video ads in Flash Apps.. However, I believe this isn't standard practice for ads - has anyone done this? Is it just a matter of dumping a video object in a flash file, because I suspect there is more to it.
