Hey guys,

Ive just set up my own business, and have come across some US work, - so naturally Im gonna have to do some time crunching numbers and hand out a budget my client can relate to, - but Im not certain they run at the same rates were doing in EU and for that matter in Denmark ( wher I iiiiz! ).

Anyone know what an average hourly rate is in 3D visualisation US wise? - normal design rates as well for that matter? - 100 bucks for 3D, 80 for design??

heres the freshly baked webbie if you wanna see what the fuzz is about WITUS WORKS

"standard" depends on the client's location and size - doing work for a Fortune 500 company in Manhattan? They probably won't take you seriously if you pitch a quote suitable to a hardware store in Omaha.

well, this is low budget, - sadly, if you got contacts at the mill, gief zem! k - Im just trying to get a foot in the door - so a 100$ hourly charge isnt over the top for a web agency wanting web 2.0 buttons etc.?

Sounds a bit high to me if it's a low budget client. I'm sure there are many that would think $50/h is high.

fwiw this kind of work talk is more suited to this forum than design.

Design is more for questions about software assistance, design critiques, design resources - that kind of thing.

It might just be me but I charge the same hourly rate to my clients in the UK, US and Africa. I give them my quotes in British pounds and they convert it. I just figured they know where I am located and can easily find out what other people in my area charge so I don't want them thinking I change my rate according to where they are from especially as they might be coming to me because UK rates are cheaper or the for the standard of work.

Of course if I know they are loaded I might bang a few more hours onto the quote k

Though don't take me to seriously as I am not a self made millionaire yet k

I do the same, but I'm from Canada so my rates are generally substantially lower than my European counterparts. Keep that in mind if you're ever looking to outsource design or illustration projects. k
