Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a web hosting company in the UK?

I have searched and there are loads!

Thanks in advance Suzy

What kind do you want, hon?

Is it for personal or business?

For my personal sites, I have always used masked URLs towww.brinkster.com accounts as they are fast, stable, support ASP and best of all - are free!

Stmoo on this board does hosting packages and he's a good old Geordie-boy just like me (good mate of mine) and his are ASP enabled hosting.

Another mate of ours and an occasional poster here (Muchovista) I believe still does hosting packages but his are PHP hosting.

I am sure if you contact them and mention I recommended them, you might be able to get a good deal for paid hosting with direct URLs too.

www.brass-balls.com is hosted with Vista and is spot on.

Hi Phantom, Hows it going? It's for business, a client of mine who's a football agent wants it, so it might get quite a few hits. Not bothered about asp at this point(but maybe in the future), need email accounts and web stats with it though. Any idea on yearly prices on those you mentioned?

Thanks for replying k

Hey you - I am not so bad. Building up to going back to work on Wednesday...hmmm!!

Allow me to promote the cute little monkey that is Stmoo... (k)

Is your football agent likely to get a tonne of hits??? the option for a tenner a month for 2gb bandwidth seems like a nice option for most 'first year' web sites, unless he is planning some serious hit-age.

You do get your web stats and e-mail addys and all that in there too.

Drop Stmoo a line here and tell him Paul sent you. He will answer any questions you might have.

Hope you make good cash off the client - those footie agents are loaded!! k

Cheers Phantom, That looks perfect, I'll check with the client that he'll go with it (he's a bit tight with his money, even though hes just got Alan Smith a 3 year contract with Leeds!) and drop Stmoo a line. I'm not too sure on the hits, we'll have to see how it goes. Thanks again, your a star k

Yeah - I am related (by marriage) to Mark Crossley (the Middlesborough keeper) and I have had a lot to do with various footballing types over the years - they are all tighter than a gnat's sphincter when it comes to money. He will be getting a good 10% of whatever deal he managed to get Smith, too. Plus any endorsement deals. Lucky git!! k

I am sure Stmoo will be glad to hear from you.

That's funny, because I was with thehttp://www.thewebpole.com until they deleted my web site and replaced it with a site about XXX donkey porn and child rape. Then they came to my house and stole all my chairs, and smeared monkey faeces all over my dog.
