** Theme // surreal futuristic 'down the rabbit hole' ** Last volley blending in with the first (creating a loop) ** Volley dimensions: 1280 X 960 ** Presentation dimensions 640 X 480 square in the center ** Vectors and bitmaps allowed
when you go about creating your picture, you'll have to take the previous image, center it at 640X480 in your volley and design your volley at 1280 X 960.

First volley
that is such a great start! really love it!
Wow, awesome image!
Um... not to be a huge pain in the ass, but can I get slotted further down?
I've got a couple of catalogues to put out between now and Jan. 15. Back at the end of October I kinda thought this would pick up before catalogue season hit, sorry.

I'm still totally into it though, so if I can just get a later slot i'm cool, I just don't want to hold everyone up right now.
count me in plz !
Hope I have the time for it then, but it's going to be a great battle I think
excellent starter
ok walt, are you up for getting this going? ive bumped you up to numero
doce, so dolce it up mi amigo
T'anks, mon ami.

no problem bud
so have we decided if we're gonna use an "arrow/ribbon" element throughout the quilt like the original?

i dont think we'll need it, it will be neato to see how the continuity works without it.
Walt you going to get in on this?

well sorry about that... I just noticed the bump in positions
I'll save the file and roll up my sleeves... maybe look for some stock...
I've noticed I'm straight after Walt. I'm actually going to yankey doodle land tonight for a week so if I'm not around and you need to keep this thing going just slot me in later.
otherwise I'm happy to stay where I am if you happy to wait for me.

first, the small-size [cropped] version of my addition:
Really like the progression Walt. sublte and very well blended. I'd like to hear your experiences.
as I said earlier I cant work on this at the moment. I'll back here on the 20th. so feel free to shove me further down the list.
HOLY  i can see how sick this shyt is really gonna be now!
I hope the following thoughts help those to follow... here's a capture of the basic document I worked with
what I learned...
first, we have a very small area to work with regarding transition once reduced by 50%, the previous volley is to be "frozen" in the center 320 x 240 pixel area... giving us the remaining portion of 640 x 480 to blend or transition to our own addition.
note, if all you are given to transition into your own area is an abrupt cut off of the previous image at the 640 x 480 threshhold... you may findas I dida considerable challenge in just adding landscape in order to facillitate a blend... not that I have given much more to the next in line, I have included in my larger version all of what you see above, which went a little beyond the "finish crop" zoneat least at the bottom, where there were elements I felt could be used in a transition... where the crop was more abrupt, at the top, I had added what I felt was considerable space that was sufficiently "transition-friendly"
my approach to blending and adding to a mural sometimes falls into a challenge to add my piece without leaving an abrupt impression I was there
in this case, the challenge was in adding landscape
It might be interesting to do this type of project allowing each person several 'keyframes'... in order for each one to plan their addition and introduce it to the flow...
remember, in the end the only part of the project that will be "ours" is that which is in the [outside portion of the] 320 x 240 freeze area... and that which remains of our work in the blend or transition of the next person
I'm most interested in seeing this work... and would be happy to comment or assist further, if I can be of any help... I simply suggest we each stretch the outer limits and pass on as much image as possible for the next person to work with... edit even though I tried to do this last bit, I realize that once what is passed on is reduced by 50%, what appears to be considerable room or landscape to work with... has diminished as well, and will remain a big challenge to the next person in the qeue
:extremegolfclap:
beautiful image walt, and thanks for explaining your process... im sure it will definately help others out.
this is going to be the wildest shyte evar!
uber :grumpy: X 10
Ive put you back clayinspector, and you too ari (i know your schedule is jam packed) so mclarkson, going to put you next.

Holy crap! How did I miss this, and when did I get bumped up to #3? Sorry, all. I'll get on it.

well done sir
Awesome volley!
I go ahead and get started on mine, but has anyone given thought to how we are stitching these together? Shouldnt we making them more frame-like?
I dont know if it matters or not, as I would be clueless as how to make this work in the end. Just asking
:notworthy MC!!1
Thanks. I feel like I totally annihilated Walt's volley without really meaning to. That is, I erased more of it than I meant to. But the next volley will surely apportion the karma I deserve.
