very cool.
My computer can't keep up :(
my brain couldn't keep up. that was seriously awesome.
"This film is processor intensive. Please shut down other programs and close unnecessary browser tabs. Doing this will enhance your viewing experience. Thanks."
it stayed on loading 97 percent for ever
er wait... you need both browser, video and back browser for it to work, fucking janky...
This site was designed with Google Chrome in mind and is unable to render properly in your browser.
Oh good, are we gonna start seeing that shit again?
oy and it crashed my browser when i quit it haha
I dunno, a bunch of video pop ups ( lames ) i mean, i get it leveraging some images from google eath and crap, but i rather see this happen in one video or integrated flash application and not in a bunch of video pop ups that move around, it is liek annoying porn spam haha
i dunno

Yep, a lot more of it, too. That's the beauty of Canvas!
This site fucked my MBA right up the ass.

I'm actually a little pissed off that they stole my scaring-birds-with-mouse cursor idea.
Props to them for actually doing it rather than just thinking about it, though.
best thing I've seen this week
that was awesome
Just watched it on Safari, the longest part was the typing in of the address. Once I got that entered in and the video going it went smooth. Pretty damn incredible.
Clever. Worked fine for me in Chrome on Windows.

some interesting details that probably weren't readily aparent

nothing to do with canvas, at least in this case, it's the video codec. firefox/opera won't support h.264. ogg currently sucks and webm is only available in beta builds.
the canvas stuff actually works fine in firefox.
Fucking brilliant ya bunch of luddites,

Canvas 3D engine renders a flocking bird simulation that reacts to the music and mouse.
Yeah, the birds fucked my laptop up. Do you want to apologise? Or keep talking out of your sphincter?

you were talking about the "this site only works on." intimating it wouldn't work because of canvas.
can't comment on the capabilities of your laptop.
For all the brilliance of the video, they definitely showed the weaknesses of CSS too. Resize your main page down to a smaller window and the footer text overlaps the content badly. Bad design there.
The video part was cool and it ran smoothly for me.
Oh shit the birds react to my mouse!? I wasn't moving the mouse randomly around like an idiot but I'll have to go back and do just that!

Yeah, I thought you couldn't admit you were wrong. No surprise there.
I finally got to check it out on my home machine and that is indeed pretty darn nifty. Not a fan of the multiple window approach though. I'm sure they had a reason for doing it that way, but it would have been much cooler all in one window.
The multiple windows was my favorite part, a rad approach to editing an internet movie.
You think? I don't know... I just thought the title bars were a little distracting. Still very cool, of course.
why couldn't they have been layered divs instead of windows?
