Last year I launched some HOT XXX PERSONAL PROJECT PORN. At some point since then something weird began happening: the markers for the Flickr images stopped appearing only when the site was viewed in Chrome. Everything is cool in FF3 (haven't checked IE7).

I've confirmed that the data is loading fine, so I'm a little stumped as to what could be going on, much less how to resolve it. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the cost of rendering the markers (pngs with a yoyo scale tween) is causing Chrome to throw up.

Compare:

Chrome (5.0.375.126) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8740961/12s/rsr-chrome.png

I think you'll need to use remote debugging.

That's all very weird.

Thanks.

Yeah, remote debugging turns up nothing that I can see. One thing I will try (when I get a moment k ) is to limit the number of photos that can be plotted at any one time. This should help determine whether it is a rendering issue. Other funky stuff happens with the photo markers when the map is dragged, so I think that might be it.

If it is indeed related to the cost of all the markers, I'll try some sort of disabled state whenever they are not in view. I rolled my own clustering system for ModestMaps last year but never had the chance to implement it, so that might be a second fun - and slightly sexier - option.

:fingers crossed:

Have not had a chance to get to it yet.
