I am using the sound class to load an mp3 into flash, but when I play the swf in the browser, the audio sounds slower and deeper than it does when I play the mp3 directly.

If that's not weird enough, when I play the swf through a browser on another computer, it sounds fine...

I am not compressing the sound at all, all the browsers we are viewing it on have the latest version of flash player and we've cleared all the caches.

How can this be happening?!

Update: It seems to be working fine if viewed in IE6, but not in IE7...

Is there a weird IE7 setting that compresses audio that is loaded into flash dynamically?!

How strange

hmmm.... nope that's not it either, we found a computer IE6 that didn't work either...

still works on a couple machines though.

any ideas?!

right, so it was because they had been exported at 48000 Hz bitrate and Flash only likes 44100.

Sometimes Flash makes me want to stab stuff.
