Hey guys, lelou redesigned the PathPoint site for us (thank fuck!) and we've just put the new version online. I hacked her (rad) design into html and css... Wow, it's been a while since I've done web.

http://path-point.com

Can you guys see if it explodes in anything? I've done cursory checks in Safari, Firefox, and IE 6 and everything seems fine. But as always, I'm sure I missed something.

nothing splodey

I do wonder why several things on the main page don't link anywhere. (ie. clicking on the main graphic, or on benefits, etc.) I would maybe disable them as hot points for when you are actually on that page.

Looks good. The only thing that confuses me (I'm easily confused) is that "benefits" and "pathpoint_for_yous" go to the same place. It seems like 2 different links next to each other would go to separate places?

Edit: RD you beat me you bastard.

Very good point(s). That's left over from some of the original copy being on a separate landing page. I'll fix that up.

looks fucking great man, clean and easy to read.

only thing i noticed was in safari the upper menu text in the header does not realign when yu shrink the browser width up and down.

using safari 4 though

Firefox 3 on OSX at 1980x1200 you have a problem that the menubar is hovering over the logo

edit: Something like posted above

pyrogen

does the same in firefox.

not a biggie, works great until you get the browser open super wide.

Cool, I should have just made that menu fixed width anyway....

... I can't seem to repro the menu thing with Safari 4. Are you guys on Windows or Mac?

...edit: I see now k

On another note what i would change:

Under features ( and also some other pages) there is a lot of text and this part should be read I find the light grey text on a white background very irritating, burns my eyes to read it. Make the text a tad more darker grey and it should be fine. Or even better is to make a light gradient in the background from light grey to white( which is now white)

Otherwise people won't read it because it strains my eyes IMO

fine on FF 3.0.7 PC 1680 x 1020

I can't tab through all the form items though. Once I get to the radio group the tab functionality disappears to somewhere else.

Graphically, it works well for me and looks really good and clean professional corporate.

Yikes! I'm hoping that's just because I was restarting the server for a second...

Thanks for the tip, General. I agree about the text.

And thanks for the heads up on that Storm. I'll look into making those checkboxes tabbable.

(the header thing should be fixed)

I didn't check interaction but it looks OK on my crappy Lenovo laptop, 1280x768, XP, FF

Thanks again guys, do you have any hints on how to get that tabindex working on the checkboxes? I tried adding a tabindex property (locally) and it was just ignored.

good on FF and Safari now...

how about a state change on the navigation to indicate which page you are on. I still want to hit benefits when I'm on the main page.

It's rather jumbo, to be honest. I would reduce the main page width to 950px, scale down the graphics to fit, and constrain the text content to a 500px column, maybe knock the font size down by 2px. Currently your page is 1180px wide. I'd guess that won't fit about 75% or more of the computer monitors out there.

Making a change like that though I know is a lot of work, so I'll just fuck right off then =) But that's my honest feedback.

I note MClarkie has not yet commented about white text on black background?

I know what you're saying but worldwide ~60% have a screen resolution of 1280 or greater (according to w3schools.) When you whittle it down to the US/Europe/Australia the percentage is much higher.

But how many of those people browse at fullscreen? And if you look around, you'll find sites like yahoo and amazon and msn etc. are designed for a 900-950px page width.

tabbing: at minimum make the tab skip the check boxes altogether if they don't work but make sure they go to the next text area box.

After "How Many Units?" I enter the data and hit Tab and it goes to who knows where. If you don't get the check boxes working, get it to go to "Please include a short..."

That would be the acceptable minimum.

mmm... still happening. though I am pretty sure it has something to do with my particular computer ... IE7 runs weird for me which I think (99% sure ackshually) has to do with the console software I use for work... it's a bit buggy.

just tried it in Chrome and Mozilla too and everything was groovy!

XP SP2 Firefox 3.0.7

Text scrolls off the screen to the right on all pages (1024 x 768) http://path-point.com/home/about_us:

Scrollbar allows scrolling down a couple hundred pixels, but there is nothing to scroll down to (all text is visible without scrolling)

Maybe that footer is just too high, it kind of does that on all pages...
