I've finally got my some time to do a site for my paintings. A friend of mine is going to redo the photography for me, but aside from that.... any feedback?
On my screen the colours are pretty low contrast, which is not that big a deal, but does compromise legibility somewhat.
The light stripe at top is for what? Also, why is the header aligned so low instead of with the top of the images?
That aside, my only real complaint is that the dropshadow is a bit gimmicky and interferes with the image colour perception a bit. I'd go for a low contrast stroke if anything.
A nice, simple site. Also, lovely work. I'm inclined toward an even cleaner look, though, to really bring attention to the work.
