I suddenly find myself with an abundance of plain white walls. I'd like to hang some of my photos, but I don't know the first thing about printing. All of this talk about color correction confuses and frightens me.
That said, I have a few questions: - What are your favorite online printing services? - What sort of prep work do I need to do to minimize unpleasant surprises (e.g. too light, too dark, reds look orange, etc.) when I get the finished products back? - Given that the photos were taken with a 12MP camera, what is the largest size at which I can print before losing quality? I'm not looking to sell these but neither do I want them to look janky.
If it helps at all, here are some of the pics I'm thinking about:

for MOST places - Convert to srgb, and use the highest quality JPGS. Even if you send tiffs, they usually convert them - better if you do it.
I like ProDPI alot. Decent prices, lots of mounting options if you want them to do it. Great quality and customer service. http://www.prodpi.com/
Some places will give you a profile if you ask for it. Use it if they will.
12mp pictures (from a dslr sized sensor) will hold easily into the 13x19 range. You can probably swing up to 24" on the long end, if you don't stand super close to them. And for that matter - there are ways to go a bit bigger - depending on the image, and your needs.
Awesome. Thanks!
