SHouldn't I be able to play an FLV file on my PC, somehow? If I double-click on the FLV file, it brings up my Flash player, but there's never anything actually in there.

The only way I can find to preview the FLV is the build a SWF wrapper around it.

Isn't there a way to just preview the FLV itself?

Super (c) can play flv; VLC can too I think, but I use Frederic Saunier's FLV player (from tektool.net), which is basically a swf wrapper.

So I'm not missing something? Why does the Flash player think it can play FLVs if it can't?

I re call this issue coming up during the beta program when flv first appeared and there was no answer.
