Ha-ha! I'm first!
ha, great photo.
Yes, note my use of different shapes, textures, and colors in this relatively simple photo. Notice how I used diagonals to lend a sense of motion, inconclusiveness, and instability. And of course, the word 'erection' adds an element of humor to an otherwise abstract composition.

An exceptionally arty arty shot, emcee - well played.

Teh_zaaalet brushing his 2 teeth.

teh_cute!
I  babies!
Wow, he really looks like both of you... cute kid!
the delicacy with which he's holding the brush is quite amusing.

great shot.
Thanks. I need to add the proof of teh_zaaalet's deadliness.......
If this doesn't strike fear in your hearts gentlemen (and ladies) I can only fathom what will.
Wow, it's like watching a young lion take down an eland.

Nice sequence zaaa

I'm jealous of your clock.
Great shot of the moon - was that using a regular telephoto, or is it a crop of a super hi-res?
The fireworks are very interesting, too, I don't think I've seen anyone take that approach to firework shots. Nice work.

not my clock..... yet
it completely makes what would have otherwie been a throway shot, it was completely unintentional.
450mm lens for the moon that was cropped.
i found setting up a tripod and shooting regular fireworks was boring, so i decided to use bulb and walk around. I find these types of photos to be much more enjoyable.

Indeed, I'm digging them as well.

So is that a 300mm lens and you're doing the digital conversion or a real 450mm? curious.
300mm on a 35mm - 450mm on my digiSLR
nice shots, iccy.
Playing around with rear synch flash last night

icebus, mon ami, describe what's going on there, I don't get it!
Been playing around with the Pentax *ist DS and I'm starting to get a feel for its ins & outs... Of course all these shots look better in raw, I need to get the hang of the editor a bit more, but I'm still very pleased.
nice contrast, good tonal range
The artifacting in this shot is the limitation of jpg, not the shot - the raw has fantastic tonal range
love the manual focus in flash suppression mode
this image was pretty noisy but a couple of others I took with slightly different settings were clean as a whistle.
Pretty decent low light shots once you know what's going on.
I also have to say Photoshop CS2's raw editor kicks ass from here to Timbuktu.
Raw Raw! Siss-boom-bah!

Was playing around with rearsych flash(for long exposures where the flash will fire just as the shuter is being released) in my apartment in the dark. I used a bulb and moved the camera in front of my tv (that was paused on the menu screen for the third season of 6 feet under) which is why you get the trail effect and then turned around to face the guitar and lamp and let go of the shutter so the flash fired. Most of the apartment was dark so I guess it si kind of like a double exposure or that was the theory i was working with anyways
Nice shots ari, the *ist looks fun.
arigato, i really like numbers 2 and 4 there. good stuff.
