It looks like the lawsuits and challenges worked - Ken has ordered that all counties change to optical scan machines that leave a paper trail.

Be in charge of a fuck up and you're famous.

Do the right thing and posts about you are completely ignored...

neither do half measures.

A paper trail is only a step in the right direction, not real electoral reform.

Though yes, I am surprised the local kneejerk rightwingers haven't been leaping to man the barricades over this post. Lord knows they jump down everyone else's throats for anything "undermining the president".

Blackwell is requesting sanctions against the lawyers that dared challenge the Ohio results.

hey, i AM one of those local rightwingers, and i think the guy is doing the right thing. "undermining the president" is the last thing this will do, if anything it will allow the correct person(s) will be put into office, and a better report of how strongly backed they were will be availible.

it won't matter. people will just say this was "fixed" too if it doesn't go their way.

If their 2008 paper trail is like the 2004 one, with ballots that have white stickers put over the kerry votes, then yeah, we might get pissy about it.

i oddly favor poll tests like that.
