Noice, that's awesome. Maybe they'll offer you guys a cut.

has anyone ever bothered to check whether that stuff really originates in nigeria?
I actually received a snail mail version of this scam, from Nigeria.
A lot of it actually does come from Nigeria, though there are variations from all over the world now. here's an old article from Slate discussing the history of the scam, actually interesting reading:http://www.slate.com/id/2072851/
interesting article
Someday 419 will abate, when young, educated Nigerians have better economic prospects and foreign Internet users get it through their thick skulls that, no, you're not going to rake in millions by flying to Nigeria and fronting some stranger your life savings.
true dat!
yeah, most of them come from nigeria but i get them now from ghana and even liberia...
mumu guys lol!

Of that number, enough people fork over enough cash to sustain an industry that ranks in Nigeria's top five, right up there with palm oil and tin. *circa 2002
still, it could be more benign than palm oil.
yeah, did anyone else watch that chris hansen dateline (not the child sex one) but the other one where he followed crap all the way back to meeting with the nigerian peeps, it was crazy

Dear Friend,
My name is Mr. SHIN YUU a contractor from JAPAN . I am interested to invest in your country through you. I am in Hong Kong now with the Sum of US$(65,500.000.00) Sixty Five Million five Hundred Thousand US Dollars which I would like to invest in your country if possible.
I made this money through a contract awarded to me in OSAKA by the ministry during the relocation of OSAKA AIRPORT and I am not safe if I go back to Japan because I did not finish the contract, I hope you can understand my situation and assist me to invest this money properly as this is my only hope. Please kindly get back to me as soon as possible.
Best regards, MR SHIN YUU
Icebus, how do I say mumu guys in Japanese?

osaka lingo is baka, the rest of japan is aho
your letter in romaji would be:
anata wa minna ga baka wo omoite yaro. anata wa souguku ni zettai iku. boku mo nihonjin desu kono takurasu zettai shiteru. anata wa metcha baka desuyo.
although kansai airport(osaka) is fucked and Osaka in general is shady as fuck in these kind of things, so you may have hit a gold mine here

copies
pastes
sends
:zippy:
it would probably sound more legit if it was in Japanese though
ã‚ãªãŸã¯çš†ãŒãƒã‚«ã‚’é‡ã„ã¦ã‚„ã‚。 ã‚ãªãŸã¯ç‰¢ç„ã«ãœã£ãŸã„行ã。ã¼ãも日本人ã§ã™ã“ã®ä¼ã‚€ãŒãœã£ãŸã„ã—ã¦ã‚‹ã€‚ã‚ãªãŸã¯ã‚ã¡ã‚ƒãƒã‚«ã§ã™ã‚ˆã€‚
ooooh! excellent
muchas gracias icey!!
that chris hansen thing kinda grinds my gears. there are always 2 sides to every story. there is an episode of this american life where they talk about 419, and in one segment they talk with some guys who scam the scammers. these guys pull a chris hansen, but take it to the next level by sending a scammer to a very dangerous area and bait him to stay there.
i think the scammer and his brother both got killed, and these guys sat around and laughed at it.
some of these people are from the poorest regions of the world, and scamming 1 person out of 500 dollars is more money than they would be able to make in a year.
i just feel bad for these guys.
Brilliant!
Shin Yuu was the name of a fictional tyrant from the tv series firefly.
This is awesome. Just got this in my email, even though I don't even have a "thespectre@gmail.com" address, or a Facebook account.
