"NEW YORK--How interesting, Democrats watching the election results at a high-rise hotel in midtown Manhattan commented, that the rest of America thinks it understands terrorism better than we do. New York bore the brunt of 9/11 yet CNN's exit poll found that New Yorkers considered Iraq (news - web sites) a bigger issue than terrorism when casting their votes for president. Midwesterners and southerners felt the opposite, motivated by fear of the unknown--literally, as they are neither likely targets of terrorism, nor did they feel or smell the horrors of that terrible day. Ranking terrorism their number one concern, they nevertheless supported an incumbent for whom the war on terrorism is nothing more than a marketing slogan.

Such astonishing gall! Only women are affected by the abortion debate; only women ought to be allowed to vote on it. The same goes for war--only the young who fight and die in war enjoy the moral right to declare it. Terrorism? Please, if you live in Mississippi or Colorado or Alaska, don't presume to talk about, much less cast your vote based upon, your "views" of Islamist terrorism. New Yorkers don't lecture you about hunting. Butt out of our business. Or at least have the grace to follow the lead of New York City voters if, contrary to history or logic, terrorism is your number one concern.

oh the irony... http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=127&ncid=742&e=7&u=/ucru/20041105/cm_ucru/guiltydisgustedamerican

Which part the New Yorkers experienced the attacks first hand or the abortion thing....

are you really scared of terrorisim....shit i saw three of my friends shot before i was 13 and watched one of them die...that only prepared me for the body bags comming back from Vietnam.. If i was 18-30 right now i'd be alot more afraid of my President than any damn Muslim on earth...just ask the families of the new generation of body bag folks..

perception is everything in life ..i also grew up hiding under my desk once a day practicing for the nukes....

while your afraid of terroists ...life is planning a surprise attack of it's own...

but then again you hate absolutely anything i post so there's a big surprise...

I keep coming back to re-read this thread. It's almost like picking at a scab.

Are democrats really the one-issue voters this article paints them as? Are they really so intolerant that they feel the need to tell other people how to vote? Is this really what the left is all about?

Yeah and that was all about Muslim terrorists...sorry you may have been watching the wrong tv show...that was a local ... you morons obviously missed the point ...this isn't about Democrats...I only quoted the first two paragraghs in relation to my thoughts...point being the issues people were voting for..abortion ,terrorisim, instead odf what they should have been voting for...the war, economy, health care..etc..of course those things are wasted on morons who don't know the difference between church and state or a leader and a lier...if Bush is sincere is his religious bs than i'm a conservative....

I tried it was all dismissed as conspiracy theory.......

just like if i tell you how the VA is at this moment trying to take back the benefits of 10% of the veterens who were given disability for life...the letters were mailed out days before the election and arrived the day after for most .All veterens who are on disability for life have to report for a "Review". seems they need alot more $$ for this war thing...so when you go to war just try to get killed ,not maimed..it'll help out the country , we all appreciate it.

i'm not saying you're wrong, but one of my co-workers is the comandant of the local american legion, so he deals with hundreds of vets every day. and he doesn't know anything about it either.

I hope he doesn't...three of my friends just got thiers... my one friend who survived one of the "worst" battles in Vietnam and is a decorated "hero" , has been fighting for his medical bills to be paid for years got his on Wendsday, I was there when he called them it went like this...

Vet:"My doctors have already said my codition has only gotten worse and i'll be lucky to live another two years" VA:"Well doctors can't make these decisions" Vet:"Well who the hell does then" VA: "We have a board you need to report to" Vet:"Is there a doctor on the board?" VA:"No" Vet" I see, well if you need the money to help protect the kids fighting now ,to supply them with decent weapons and machinery, and take care of them after the get wounded...then take my benefits, I won my battles in Vietnam ,i can't fight this shit anymore!"

maybe this doesn't apply to all veterens I'll check it out...

DEMOCRATS are one-issue voters??? HA. Seems to me that 90% of the Republican vote was based solely on "WWJD?"

Are Republicans really so intollerent they need to tell other people how to LIVE?

i know for a fact it doesn't apply to all veterans, every male in my whole extended family is a veteran except me plus two of my close friends and none of them have heard anything about it.

Context, I need context. Last I checked I was asking about the accuracy of what the article was saying about democrats. From there you went into something about Republicans telling people how to live. Quite frankly, I feel like I missed part of the conversation.

Regarding the disability letter. Since I can't find a thing on Google news, would you mind scanning this letter that so many people you know have so we could see what you're talking about.

If you'd clean the wax out of your ears and think more open-mindedly and get a better job and spend less on coffee and cigarettes and go to the gym more regularly and good lord buy some new clothes.. uh... what was I talking about again? Oh right, if you'd only let us tell you how to live you'd see more clearly how we never tell you how you should live.

I think you all should just stop right now and take a hug break k  k
