Fucking USPS changed their API & it's messing up my rates in my magento store. I'm assuming has also had the same effect on other stores that pull data from USPS

Is anyone familiar enough with magento or Zend to help me out?

Problem is this: I haven't been able to update it in about 18 months (i have 1.1.4) and the fix magento released will only work on 1.4.x+. From what I've read it mainly gas something to do with the API sending a ®

So, anyone know your way around it?

Luckily I am able to set a fixed rate and we ship orders above $50 for free anyway so I'm not out of business.
