Aggh... the injustice!!

Having reached the point where i want to burn a CD-ROM-based Flash project to disc, the XML file it loads and parses suddenly doesn't want to work if I either a) launch from within a disc image, or b) launch from a burnt CD-ROM. If I run it out of my test space (any test space in fact, including fileshares) it launches fine!

Does anyone have an idea on this? I know there were issues with loadVars() and XML.onLoad() working AT ALL on Flash5 Mac projectors but I'm assuming these were resolved for MX and if this were the issue why would the project work at all..?!

Strangely, it works under OSX too. I'm on OS9.2.1.

Any help appreciated,

M.

From:http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/mac_ie_issues.htm#loc

Local Playback Some systems are unable to view local plug-in content using Internet Explorer on the Macintosh. The browser is unable to connect to a file using the local file syntax (file://); it can only connect with Web syntax (http://). On these machines enabling Personal Web Sharing or another web server will allow Flash to play local content.

Cheers for that but this is slightly different as I'm not running the Flash app through a browser - it's a standalone projector.

On further testing I've discovered it is working OK on other Macs we have here running OS8.6 and OS9. It's just my machine that's spitting the dummy?!

Those are long enough odds for me to kick this out the door and cross my fingers...
