this image was created with jonromero's challenge in mind... didn't know if he wanted to use it or create a service volley himself [in most all my battles, it seems that I have always gone second]

I've accepted the challenge and he's accepted the image

so we are off... no theme, just following some sort of continuity from the previous image—color, object, element, style... whatever... I would prefer to keep the size and orientation: I understand this is kind of a unique size—I think I added a couple of pixels to a 1024pixel-wide image, then posted a 1/2-size copy to the thread with a link to the larger version... but then again, I am all about inspiration and going with the creative juice... if something takes our fancy—who knows, we'll create what suits us best...

actually had it a bit better than what is evident in this version of the image... as you can see, some of the hair is way too green yet, which in this is a 'tell' that I used blending of layers... but I used several different copies and blends

otherwise, I try tio use a combination of layers with good selections and some mix of blended or extracted fly-away strands to give the impression of a more realistic image

Ever wake up dreaming at 3 in the morning about layers and blending modes? I must admit my addiction and seek proffesional help.

Your last volley was awesome, this image isnt worthy but I had so many variations I could not decide so here ya go.

yup, I hear what you are saying [about the dreaming in layers part] but there's no need for modesty, the image you've posted is [once again] remarkeable

excellent piece :grumpy:

I find that after such a long break from my creative play, I am less inclined to go with [or feel immediatly comfortable with] my first inspiration... feeling I need to work more... but the beauty of the creative exercise, and how it carries over into 'working situations' is that I gain trust in those first moments of creative inspiration.

again, l love what you've done with this one
