Well, of course. But you know me, Ian— this sort of thoughtful design/print detail is far too rare, and I love it when someone takes the time to make their product as perfect and usable as possible.

Steampunk is looking forwards by looking backwards.

I was trying the electroetch last week but no luck with the transfer yet. There's a laserjet at work that should be fine, but I can't find it on our network. Gotta find old printing/ copying tech. TO THE LIBRARY!

I've tried to do the electro etching.

The transfer went pretty easily.

My problem was with the etching. I managed to get a bit of a bite into the copper, but not as deep as I'd like. I think probably my power source was insufficient. Also I was using salt water - not copper sulfate solution, so that may have affected the flow.

My first results. For scale, the wheel is about 1 inch across. So I was reasonably happy with the detail held by the transfer.

That's really awesome and the detail is impressive!

I've got copper sulfate, but I built my own power supply and I'm a little nervous about using it - no idea what I was doing, but it seems to work.
