I'm going to Australia for three weeks. We're flying to Sydney, Cairns, Melbourne, driving a portion of the great ocean road and figuring the rest out as we go.

I finally get to eat carrot cake in a dessert - at least somewhere along the way that is the goal.

Does anyone have any must see suggestions? Any great bars I must hit, Stinkfist?

Get a hold of Drew and make him take you out drinking in Newtown.

I second the newtown recommendation. I would also suggest manley beach, nice beach and it gives you an excuse to get on a ferry in sydney harbour.

I would highly recommend byron bay and its neighbour nimbin (if your into mind expanding chemicals). Great place to learn to surf.

byron bay is quite a long way out of your way though.

I would also suggest going for a beer in kings cross (red light district) sydney. Spent many a night in kings cross hotel. Rough as fuck, but fun.

Oxford road also good, especially if you're there around sydney pride.

to be fair, if he avoids all the places where you've been glassed, he wont leave his hotel room. k

All of these are good points k

I'm definitely aiming to avoid a glassing.

Most of the pubs in Sydney have switched to hard plastic schooner glasses to keep people from glassing each other. Nanny state FTL.

Just follow the Yellow Brick Road and steer clear of the Wicked Witch of the West, you'll be fine.

Oh, and don't look behind the curtain.

If you come to Melbourne, you must drink in Stinkys favourite pub, The Labour In Vain.

What you thinking of seeing down the GOR?

Labour in Vain - got it. I expect we will be seeing many bars and restos in Melbourne. We're going for a wedding and the Bride and Groom are in the service industry.

We don't really have anything planned for the great ocean road. I haven't thought about much more than camping out of our van and being a bit of a bum. I'd like to get some kayaking in if possible. I'm not sure how far we will get, so I'm hesitant to plan too much.

Fucking right you will. Melbourne hasn't really got much except bars and restaurants!

The Labour In Vain is on Brunswick Street in Fitzroy, not far out of the CBD. You can get the tram straight there. And when you go, let me know and I'l buy you a pint.

Then we can glass each other as is the tradition and carry on with our lives.

I can't wait to go back to Oz just to glass DB in the mouth.

I'm sorry, that was out of line. I mean to say that I want to go back home so I can glass DB in the whore mouth.

I don't know what a CBD is, but that sounds entirely convenient. I'll send a message close to the end of the month.

Central Business District, i.e. city centre.
