a friend wanted a simple site, I guess it does not need to be flash.
salsakidsinschools
designed directly in CS3 flash and movement coded in haXe, any suggestions welcome, especially on the html holding the flash, but obviously on the design which hopefully is not too bad... but I wait to be corrected although you risk getting a fla to edit if you do
.
Everytime I help a friend with a site they never provide good content...guess we all know its bad to do web favors for friends but I have a weakness for anything related to promoting salsa dance, hope to add some content soon and make it live. ( the links on the page don't do much as I don't have any content for them yet ).
Hey man, i think it looks great for helping a friend out.
Unfortunately, and maybe why there hasn't been much comment, is the links don't work?
Same - page loads ok but that's it.
I personally find the design busy - I'd make the logo smaller, pull the nav into the header bar, align the text to the top of the image... I also wonder if it might not look cleaner with only one bg colour, i don't really see the point of black and purple stripes. As far as the colours go, I'm not convinced - it looks pretty dark for a "fun" kid oriented site. As far as the fonts go, I don't think you should have "fun" a different colour (looks like a link), I question the italic bold for body text, and your contact link doesn't look like a link. Also, the use of glow looks over-photoshopped. One last note, I suspect "oxfordshire" should be capitalised.
Thanxs for the input.
just trying to understand some content received... then links will be added and work.
The design was entirely developed from the photo, so the colors came from that.
Arigato interesting points thankyou, I am still unsure how to improve my design ability?
It's all just suggestions. Best way to get better at design is to a) look at a lot of it critically b) not be afraid to try new things c) practice
