Red5

be warned though doodles, you might actually have to write some code. And there's no "Script Assist" button for red5 kk

At LFPUG we had presentation on haxe, and showed a very lightweight powerfull haxe one. Maybe this link helps..http://haxe.org/doc/neko/threadserver

...well fark. The client doesn't want to install red5. Hasn't really said why.

haXe doesn't look very easy and they don't run Ruby.

Any other alternatives? Even ones that aren't free, but don't cost as much as Flashcom server...

haxe may well support php version or it can be ported. I suspect that the haxe approach may turn out the simplest and lightest.

Buy the flashcom and reflect it in the cost to the client, they can be fussy if they pay, otherwise they get their server guy to install what you need and like it.
