Has anyone here had any real experience in using the f10 IK stuff and/or using motion capture data?

I'm building an IK puppet that I want to hook into a mocap standard. It's a rapid prototype situation so I am keen to discover any existing techniques or approaches as opposed to doing the ground research as I simply don't have time. Any suggestions or pointers? is the f10 IK stuff of any use for a physics based IK puppet or should I build my own rig from scratch?

IK in flash is XML structured, its a bit too clever, it solves for you...http://www.actionscript.org/forums/archive/index.php3/t-186617.html

MD2 or similar in 3D engines might be worth a lookhttp://makc.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/flash/sandy_md2/MD2Test.swf

I have a 'door' class in pv3d that makeshttp://www.justinfront.net/demos/treepopup.swf easy you just create a door chain in but its not connected to IK/physics

Keiths basic animation book covers IK really well.

if you have some 3d motion capture data then send it my way would be interested to see if I can use it with doors or 2d with flash IK.

I should have mentioned... I'm only using x,y from the mocap data and will be avoiding using any 3D engines (as I need to keep this as simple as possible).

So far I have build a basic nested rig, have written a tool to capture design time poses then written a sequencer to switch in and out of poses. A non-IK glorified animation sequencer really. It's kind of doing what I want but I need to find a better mocap/IK solution and will probably look into once production begins and I have more time.

I started to look int the F10 IK stuff but found it to be very specific and somewhat limiting. The problem is that I would need to build in some proper physics, in which case I would use something like Ape and doing so would remove the need to use Flash IK.... kinda like your hinge example but 2D.

yer IK in flash 10 if they come clean would be far more useful but they like the magic, as I said Keith while our own 101 and not easy to treat as a god is full of nuggets that are worth farming.
