I'm redesigning a site for a friend, and she's happy with it, except for the (or in fact any) pattern at the top. Without it, it lacks something. Any recommendations?

How about a solid colour, like what she wants?

If you make the bottom a bit more desaturated or even better a lighter version of the same bg tone you used in the middle area, the top being a (darker) solid colour will look less weird, I think.

A solid chocolate brown at the top and maybe a a little element which goes with the words carinabruwer.com

And why is she giving us the evil eye in the main pic?

Maybe make the logo a bit bigger (I'm being serious now ) and have it on a solid bg, but keep some elements of that bg design over on the right hand side to fill out that space a little, but with even less contrast than you have now so they're not too distracting? Course that might look like shit, I don't do design.

I think that's supposed to be a sexy "come hither" over-the-shoulder look rather than a "I'm going to zap you with laser beams from my eyes" look

I think if I look at it again my testicles will whither away But I guess she likes it - Napalm, you'd better get this design right!
