I was asked by a client if I can do an e-shot that has audio playing. I know not to do video in email as many programs won't allow it but does the same apply to if I tried to play an audio file that is linked to on a website in an email? Hope that makes sense k

Hi,

No, no way to do this. All you can do is supply a link to a webpage that has the audio; or, you could attach the audio (if it is not too big) and get people to play it on their machines.

This idea also would irritate me; should I receive a mail that plays music at me I'd be quick to delete it... but then maybe I am an old fart.

I'm against doing attachments anyway. Thank you for the advice scudsucker k I just wanted to double check but I told the client it wasn't a good idea to have audio in an email.
