As I mentioned earlier, I'm commercialising the software behind Twelvestone. As a result I am moving the forums to http://12s.twelvestone.com. Everything should work just fine under that.

While I make the migration things are going to be wonky, the commerce site is going to be a rough beta until I get the bugs worked out. All of you poor fools who promised your help bug testing, well I'm going to take you up on it k

There's probably at least another week's worth of work to be done until it's actually live. I was really aiming for a real launch today but that's just not in the cards. It's close though. With a little luck I'll be running ads by the 15th.

Reaching the site has been wonky already today. Server issues?

Just text me when you're ready to rock. I can probably get another person we can trust to help out.

Ok, it's going to get bumpy and mostly unavailable for a bit while I'm deploying and desperately trying to get things right k

It might be the weekend or Monday before it's ready for actual testing (or it might be this afternoon).

We'll see k

Also, you guys rock.

Cool. I've gotta go dark for a while to take care of some business, but I'll be on the lookout.

You just triggered a seizure in my brain.

The last 3 months at work have involved:

  • Migrating all of our sites to Azure.
  • Migrating all of our customer data to S3
  • Migrating all of our complex sites to Rackspace.

And you want to do another migration!?

You're KEEELING ME!

If I don't take my own life during The Great 12s Migration and Blackout of 2011 (aka The Dark Period) then I'm all yours!!

May AgentX bless us all during this trying time.

Let's pray...

Blessed is Speccy in all his hats

And Stinky with all his glorious tats

Never shall we awake in a Republican bed

The site shall work to make money instead

Lemur Bless

I'm getting a certificate error - viewing on my Android browser

That's so weird, it's working in Chrome but M44 just let me know he was getting one too.

Ok, it looks like the cert that's coming through is the Heroku cert, not the one for twelvestone. For some odd reason it's gone through just fine on Chrome.

Weird. www.twelvestone.com (http) is causing the fuss, whereas https://twelvestone.com is just fine.

Aight. I'm in a bit of a quandry. For some reason I can't redirect from http://www.twelvestone.com to https://twelvestone.com

Any ideas?

12s.twelvestone.com 404s about 75% of the time for me with Chrome. Even following internal links. Cache has been flushed.

I'm amazed you were so fast in the transition. I won't get my deposit back on the therapist I scheduled now.....

The only problem I had is going from an https: to an http: addy. Is there browser security scripts that block a redirect from an secure channel to a non? And is it only certain browsers? Do I not know what I'm talking about? lol k

This is very likely a DNS issue. But I have been fighting routing and redirects all day so it could also be a misconfiguration on my part.

Luckily the lovely people at Heroku fixed the problem with redirecting from http to https on the www subdomain. Now I just have to fix my routes to make that happen correctly.

The white labeling is still in progress but it's coming along well. I'm actually optimistic that I'll be able to really start doing this for real on Monday. fingers crossed

Ok, all the redirects and routes should be fine.

If you go to http://twelvestone.com or www.twelvestone.com you'll be redirected to https://www.twelvestone.com

But if you go to twelvestone.com/[thread or forum link] you'll be redirected to 12s.twelvestone.com/[thread or forum link].
