I got a new bike yesterday, had just set it up (seat height etc.) and decided to take it down a nearby quiet residential street to check it out. The dog decided to follow me and I was just glancing back to see where she was when another dog ran out of someone's garden and under my front wheel.
The first I knew about it was peeling my face off the road. Of course I didn't have a helmet on (I hadn't intended to go more than a few hundred yards). No sign of serious head trauma (beyond some road rash on my face) but I have to go back tomorrow to get my wrist x-rayed.
Typing left-handed sucks.
PS. The dog was unharmed.

Luckily no, it was a smooth road so no gravel and my rugged good looks haven't been ruined.
Had an x-ray today, nothing showing but apparently damage to the scaphoid(?) bone doesn't always show up immediately. So it's strapped up and I have to have another scan in a couple of weeks. Joy.
