Hi all -
It's been many a year since I last did anything Flash-related, but I'm hoping someone else here has had some experience working with foreign (non-English) languages in Flash. I'm no longer doing Flash work, but am trying to help a coworker who's working with Turkish clients.
He's getting passed the name of an image that contains special characters. This name displays correctly within a textfield, and traces out correctly in the Output window. However... when Flash attempts to load the .jpg (with the funky special characters), it fails. When we look at the Activity Window in Safari, the call to the image has a bunch of ???? in the filename.
The closest we've come to another description of the problem is this issue involving French. He's tried the suggested conversion function, with no success.
A lot of the Unicode/UTF-8 stuff is way over my head, but I'm hoping someone here has run into this kind of a situation before.
I hope I'm being detailed enough to convey the issue here. If I can provide more info, please let me know. Any feedback greatly appreciated!
Nevermind. Used encodeURI and that solved the problem.
