I am going to be building a website for a local pub.
It needs to contain info about the pub in general,
menus event information news / fixtures / results from their boules team
and also general interaction with the customers.
What is the best option for doing this?
Wordpress ?? Joomla?? Custom built website??
Thinking easy to throw together as the turnaround time will need to be quite fast.
Joomla will do the job, but unless it's going to be very active it might be overkill for a site like this, so I would go with Wordpress.
Go with Concrete5 - recommended by someone here and by far and away the easiest CMS I've ever built a site around.
looks good...need to see how to add your own design templates but I love the "Contribute-esque" work flow. I never figured out why Contribute didn't take off more.

Concrete is looking really good. any handy hints on theming that you can share?
would prolly depend on the target audience no? You'd need a look and feel in line with the clients' requirements which hopefully meets the audiences expectations for going to the site?
There's a good video on theming on the site. It's ridiculously easy to do if you have a pre-built design with clear editable areas.
